Who we are
Kent Community Sports (KCS) is a community-led, non-profit organisation using sport to bring people together across Kent. Built on a footballing legacy that began in 1996, KCS exists to create inclusive opportunities for adults and young people, support wellbeing, and strengthen communities through sport.
At the heart of KCS is Sylhet Bang, our community football club that carries nearly three decades of history and continues to represent our values on and off the pitch.

Our Mission
To use sport as a powerful tool to build community, improve physical and mental wellbeing, and create positive opportunities for people of all backgrounds across Kent.

Through KCS, we deliver a wide range of activities designed to meet the needs of our community, including:
Community football for adults and youth
Competitive and recreational football formats
Youth development programmes

Annual charity events such as the Rivals Cup
Multi-sport activities including badminton, cricket and cycling

Our Story: 1996 to Present

1996–Early 2000s | Kashmir FC – The Beginning
Our journey began in 1996 with the formation of Kashmir FC, a grassroots football team created by local community members who wanted a place to play, connect and belong. What started as a simple football team quickly became a support network for people new to the area, using sport to build friendships and community.

2000s–2018 | Kent Tigers & Bengal Tigers – Growth and Identity
As the community evolved, so did the club. Over the following years, the team became Kent Tigers and later Bengal Tigers, reflecting a growing and diverse community. Throughout this period, the club remained entirely self-funded and volunteer-led, continuing to bring people together through football and shared identity.

2019–Present | Sylhet Bang FC – A Modern Era
In 2019, the club entered its current era as Sylhet Bang FC. This rebrand marked a renewed focus on community pride, inclusion and representation, while staying true to the values that had guided the club since 1996. Sylhet Bang continues to compete, train and grow as the football heart of the KCS community.

2023–Present | Kent Community Sports (KCS) – Structure for the Future
Recognising the need for structure, sustainability and growth, Kent Community Sports (KCS) was formally established in 2023. This allowed the community group to expand beyond football, develop youth and multi-sport programmes, access funding and partnerships, and take the organisation to the next level.
